Why Ego Deaths Are Similar to Near-Death Experiences (NDEs)

When I was living in my van, #StarShip, in 2024, after 5 years of traveling and teaching from the road, something profound happened to me.

From November 2024 until April 2025, it will forever be remembered in my brain bank. That was the year I experienced a Kundalini Awakening, a Dark Night of the Soul, and an Ego Death. 

What are these:
-Kundalini Awakening: A ‘Kundalini Awakening’ is a powerful spiritual experience, often described as the awakening of dormant energy at the base of the spine, leading to profound physical, emotional, and spiritual transformations.

It is typically associated with practices like yoga, meditation, and breathwork, and can be triggered by various experiences, including trauma, near-death experiences, or even dreams.

-Dark Night of the Soul: The ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ is a stage of final and complete purification, and is marked by confusion, helplessness, stagnation of the will, and a sense of the withdrawal of God’s presence. It is the period of final “unselfing” and the surrender to the hidden purposes of the divine will.

-Ego Death: An “Ego Death” can also be called a ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ or a ‘Kundalini Awakening’. It’s described by people who have experienced it as a feeling of losing oneself.

It is termed so because it has been reported as feeling like a form of dying in which one lets go of one’s sense of self, one’s identity, or one’s selfish or worldly desires.

My Health Knowledge Did Not Matter – #MyWarWasSpiritual: I am a Non-GMO Health Educator and Holistic Healer with six (6) health books at www.AngelsPress.com, so I understand the human body. However, what happened to me was ‘Spiritual’.

It took every bit of my knowledge and wisdom to survive. You can say I was housebound and bedridden, but I knew I was on a journey of transformation and rejuvenation. I knew my body was changing from a ‘carbon-based’ to a ‘crystalline’ state, so I just had to hang in there.

I had brain fog for 6 months, but sometimes I was able to work on my blogs, articles, and newsletters at www.CathyHarrisInternational.com. However, most of the time I spent sleeping like Rip Van Winkle receiving downloads.

There were days I would wake up and try my best to figure out how to sit up, especially when I had the ‘vertigo’. All I could do was look at the ceiling of my van.

Then another day, I would wake up and try to figure out how to get out of bed. To pull myself off my bed, I needed a rope, so I had to hang on to whatever was around my bed. Sometimes, I would use the restroom and just lie back down.

The next day, I would wake up and try to figure out how to walk at least 10 feet in front of me. Again, I had to lie back down. I lost my balance and fell in the van at least 3 times, and landed on my hips when the vertigo came.

Good thing I had meat on my bones because breaking your hips in your 60s or 70s usually results in death. After that happens many times, you can’t really exercise or, in many cases, move again, so I definitely did not want to injure myself.

I went to Walmart twice, but the hip and lower back pain was so bad that I could not exit the vehicle, so I just drove off. I have a very low tolerance for pain. The pain in my thighs, hips, lower back, etc., was unbearable.

There were some days and weeks when I had pain every single day. I even reached out to my Guardian Angels and Spirit Guides and said, “At least give me a day or two of energy, just a day every now and then.”

I knew I had to go through the pain because it was Ascension symptoms, so I never asked them to stop the pain totally. I did, however, ask that I be assigned more Guardian Angels.

Understand that we do have enough Guardian Angels and Spirit Guides to go around, and if you lead a busy life, chances are you need more of these helpers.

Therefore, I asked for more Guardian Angels to assist me in my daily life. Since I was always on the move in my Van, #StarShip, I asked for a Guardian Angel to be assigned explicitly to my travels.

I thanked her and the protection ArchAngel (#Michael) each time I arrived safely at my destination.

Because my digestive tract was all off, and this has never happened to me before, I asked for a Guardian Angel to help with my health/food/diet.

Because I had exercised since I was 18, and just 3 years ago, I was at the top of my game, actively running and hiking, I was bothered when I did not have enough strength to exercise.

Therefore, I ask that a Guardian Angel be assigned to my health. I later heard her tell me to do water aerobics. Even though I went to gyms and sat in saunas, hot tubs, and swimming pools to relieve the pain from Ascension symptoms, it never occurred to me to try water aerobics until my Guardian Angels suggested it.

Because I was trying to run a business in the midst of all of the pain, I asked for a Guardian Angel to be assigned to my business, my Empowerment and Publishing company at www.AngelsPress.com.

I knew that anything else that I was involved with would probably be covered by the Guardian Angels and Spirit Guides already assigned to me, so by asking for these extra helpers, I felt more relieved and relaxed. I knew I would heal, but I just had to give it more time.

The only thing that helped with the pain was sitting in the hot tub, so I had to stay close to the city. I tried doing detoxes every couple of months, and even though I am 68, these usually made me feel like I was in my 20s, but that did not work.

I had IBS for 2 months with diarrhea and gas. I take probiotics, so I have never had an issue with my digestive tract before. I went several days without consuming anything but water for 48 hours or more.

I could not juice green foods, which I knew would help me stay healthy. Every single time I looked at green foods, I just wanted to throw up, so I did not juice for 6 whole months.

My sleep schedule is still off, but I sleep when I can, because I know I am being sent downloads through dreams and daily meditations. If this is what you are going through, know that you, too, will recover and come out of it. You just have to hang on!
